'Occupy' protest on London roof
Dozens of protesters from Occupy London stormed an office in London’s West End today.
The group of about 60 - linked to the anti-capitalist protesters camped out in the churchyard of St Paul’s Cathedral - said they were “targeting” Mick Davis, the chief executive of mining company Xstrata.
The demonstrators entered Panton House, in Panton Street - which houses offices of Xstrata. Some of them gained access to the roof, where officers moved in to clear them.
Demonstrators hung protest banners on the roof before police regained control of the building.

Storming of Panton House
Storming of Panton House
About 60 protestors gained entry into the offices of mining company Xstrata, a ‘leading light' of the FTSE 100 and British industry to highlight the fact that CEO Mick Davies was the highest compensated CEO of all the FTSE 100 companies in the last year, when his companies had losses and the economy collapsed. He received £18,426,105 for his efforts.
The action announced by OccupyLSX left piccadilly circus and marched down Haymarket before taking a sharp left into Panton street and rushing through the doors of Panton House. After a couple of minutes police arrived and started violently pushing people back from the doors. An announcement was made via a human mic about why the occupation was taking place (see below). There were reports of very rough treatment inside. Police then moved to kettle the crowd with some violent attacks as they pushed people back. Other people were dragged to the side of the street and searched. A samba band kept playing in solidarity with those still inside (the building and the kettle).
As of 5pm there are still many people kettled and a coach with police officers at the front has been brought in - perhaps to arrest people?

Occupy Wall Street is promising a “big day of action” Dec. 6 that will focus on the foreclosure crisis and protest “fraudulent lending practices,” “corrupt securitization,” and illegal evictions by banks.
The day will mark the beginning of an Occupy Our Homes campaign that organizers hope will energize the movement as it moves indoors as well as bring the injustices of the economic crisis into sharp relief.

Class war, generation war, war against women, war between the regions: George Osborne's autumn statement blatantly declares itself for the few against the many. Gloves are off and gauntlets down, and the nasty party bares its teeth. Here is the re-toxified Tory party, the final curtain on David Cameron's electoral charade. No more crocodile tears for the poor, no more cant about social mobility or "the most family-friendly government" or "we're all in this together". Forget "vote blue go green", with this mockery of husky-hugging. Let the planet fry.

After major crises at hierarchical institutions from Penn State to the Catholic Church, it's time to give the Occupy movement's horizontal structure a chance.
...
Many of them got their first political awakening working on the Obama campaign, which was both tightly controlled from the top and also oddly open, easy to join and willing to trust volunteers with a large amount of information and responsibility. Disappointed not only with the personal failure of their charismatic leader but with the entire system in which he functions, those young people are quite literally doing it for themselves now.

No independent/citizen media was in the grab bag of media outlets selected. The LAPD Media Relations Department declined to tell me who was in the media pool, saying it was not for publication. Someone had called earlier and had been given the names and told the POI officer that they would not guarantee non-publication, so the officer was very wary. Why doesn’t the LAPD want that information released?

A Black Friday shopper who collapsed while shopping at a Target store in West Virginia went almost unnoticed as customers continued to hunt for bargain deals.
Walter Vance, the 61-year-old pharmacist, who reportedly suffered from a prior heart condition, later died in hospital, reports MSNBC.
Witnesses say some shoppers ignored and even walked over the man's body as they continued to shop, reports the New York Daily News.
Friends and co-workers saddened to learn of his death, expressed outrage over the way he was treated by shoppers.
"Where is the good Samaritan side of people?" Vance's co-worker Sue Compton told WSAZ-TV.
"How could you not notice someone was in trouble? I just don't understand if people didn't help what their reason was, other than greed because of a sale."

Occupy LA Deadline Passes and Protesters Stay
LOS ANGELES — Wall Street protesters declared a minor victory Monday when they defied a midnight deadline to leave their tent city encampment around City Hall and police withdrew after surrounding the camp for six hours without moving in.
Four people were arrested as police cleared downtown streets to make way for morning rush hour traffic, but police said the event was largely peaceful.
Police Chief Charlie Beck said it remains unclear when the nearly two-month-old Occupy LA camp would be cleared.

Neil Sherlock, a senior executive at KPMG, the accountancy partnership, will become Mr Clegg’s “director of government relations” in the new year.
Last year, it was disclosed that he was among a number of businessmen who had paid money directly into Mr Clegg’s bank account to help fund the Liberal Democrat MP’s private office before he was in government.
Mr Sherlock has also donated money to the Lib Dems and last year his wife, Kathryn Parminter, the former head of the Campaign to Protect Rural England, was elevated to the House of Lords by Mr Clegg’s party.

Union leaders have declared there is nothing the Government can do to avert the biggest strikes in a generation this week.
As the Army is put on standby to secure Britain’s borders, millions of public sector workers are being warned that a ‘hugely generous’ pensions offer from ministers will be withdrawn if a deal is not agreed by the end of the year.
But the head of the Trades Union Congress, Brendan Barber, said it was ‘unlikely’ there was anything the Government could say to persuade him to call off Wednesday’s action.

"From the moment the Occupy London Stock Exchange occupation started, in the full glare of the media and in the court of public opinion, we have continually been asked, 'What do you want?' "What are your demands?'" said Jamie Kelsey, a member of the corporations policy group.
"We are calling time on a system where corporates and their employees pursue profit at all costs. Just as corporates have played their role in the iniquities of the current system, they are also part of the solution and we invite them to join this important conversation."

Cameron gave a speech in which he warned of the next scandal likely to hit Britain. It would centre on what he referred to as "secret corporate lobbying".
The practice of corporations influencing politicians behind closed doors "has tainted our politics for too long", he told an audience at the University of East London. "We all know how it works. The lunches, the hospitality, the quiet word in your ear, the ex-ministers and ex-advisers for hire, helping big business find the right way to get its way. In this party, we believe in competition, not cronyism."
Connoisseurs of irony will enjoy reheating Cameron's words this week.

As we gather together in solidarity to express a feeling of mass injustice, we must not lose sight of what brought us together. We write so that all people who feel wronged by the corporate forces of the world can know that we are your allies.
We come to you at a time when corporations, which place profit over people, self-interest over justice, and oppression over equality, run our governments. We have peaceably assembled here, as is our right, to let these facts be known.
They have taken our houses through an illegal foreclosure process, despite not having the original mortgage.
They have taken bailouts from taxpayers with impunity, and continue to give Executives exorbitant bonuses.

Biggest Scam In World History Exposed: Are The Federal Reserve’s Crimes Too Big To Comprehend?
The Pentagon Papers
That is not hyperbole. That is what happened.
We are talking about trillions of dollars secretly pumped into global banks, handpicked by a small select group of bankers themselves. All for the benefit of those bankers, and at the expense of everyone else. People can’t even comprehend what that means and the severe consequences that it entails, which we have only just begun to experience.
Let me sum it up for you: The American Dream is O-V-E-R.
Welcome to the neo-feudal-fascist state.

Occupy Wall Street - Help us get shelter
Many hard working, heroic people are protesting on Liberty Ave in NYC for #OccupyWallStreet.
We are tired of being controled by the %1 and believe it is time for the people to take back what is ours! We plan on occupying wall street, untill our goals are met.
This week it started raining hard and the police refuse to let us set up any structers, such as tents. Many people are getting sick due to this, making this fight harder.
We ask you to please help us in getting our tents set up, without them instantly being taken down by the NYPD. To help us do this please spread this video around! Send it to the media, politicians, your friends and family!

Black Friday vs Occupy Wall Street
How did Black Friday desolve into this? As reports of shopping-related violence rolled in this weekend from Los Angeles to New York, experts say a volatile mix of desperate retailers and cutthroat marketing has hyped the traditional post-Thanksgiving sales to increasingly frenzied levels.
Is The first amendment just a matter of perception? Large numbers of folks camping out, chaotic crowds, people shot and even pepper sprayed. This time it isn't Zuccotti Park, Oakland or Denver. No instead it was Walmart, Best buy and Target stores across the United States on Black Friday.
People are transformed into Consumer Zombies once again. Interesting Contrast Black Friday vs Occupy Wall Street and what is legal and what is illegal.

Also Occupy Long Beach (California) being evicted today!
Occupy Philly has been occupying Dilworth Plaza for months. Weeks ago, Mayor Nutter and the City offered Occupy Philly a "compromise" by promising to issue a permit for protesters to stay in Thomas Paine Plaza between the hours of 9am to 7pm, with no tents.
Protest movements should not have curfews. Seeking justice is not a 9 to 5 activity. We believe, in solidarity with the occupiers of Dilworth Plaza, that we have a fundamental right to protest safely and free from repression 24-hours a day.
Additionally, because of corporate greed and vast economic disparity, many Occupiers are actually homeless. We can't simply "give up our tents" and go home. Occupy Philly has decided to stand with homeless people by rejecting the City's unfair proposal.
We are not only protesting inequality. We are also creating new political structures, new ways of living together, and new ways of supporting each other. And we will not be made invisible.

Alternative Day of Action on Human Rights Day 10th December 2011
We would like to propose the week starting on the 10th of December (10/12 – 17/12) as a time for alternative forms of protest which will be found after a debate between all of us.
The idea is to participate in proposing new forms of action with a creative spirit: we can organize public forums, workshops and flash-mobs; we can promote the movement at local schools and neighborhoods or get in contact with humanitarian organizations working with the same goals.

Occupy Warwick - Condemn Marketization of Education
We have pitched our camp outside the Arts Centre as part of the National Campaign Against Fees and Cuts.
We stand in solidarity with the many similar student occupations that are occurring nationwide, and will support the waves of public sector strikes on the 30th.
We condemn the on-going marketization of education. At a time where every other OECD nation but Romania is investing in higher education, the Coalition is making deep and savage cuts into funding, transforming students into customers and blocking access from the poor. We have asked the Vice-Chancellor to sign a pledge to guarantee the following basic tenets of a functioning education system.
Egypt: In no mood for compromise
Tens of thousands gathered in Tahrir Square
Dubbed the "last chance million man protest" thousands of Egyptians poured into Cairo's Tahrir Square in scenes reminiscent of events just nine months ago. But with Hosni Mubarak, the Egyptian president, long gone and now in custody, this time their target is Egypt's military leadership.
The Supreme Council of the Armed Forces has appointed a new prime minister, who will form a 'national salvation government'. But with numbers of protesters swelling daily, they are in no mood to compromise. They have demanded that the military should hand over power to a civilian government immediately.
What now for Egypt's revolution? Can parliamentary elections go ahead as planned despite the ongoing unrest?

But with numbers of protesters swelling daily, they are in no mood to compromise. They have demanded that the military should hand over power to a civilian government immediately.
What now for Egypt's revolution? Can parliamentary elections go ahead as planned despite the ongoing unrest?

An action is also being planned for Thursday, December 1st in front of a tear gas plant in Jamestown, Pennsylvania that has been supplying the Egyptian military junta. Participants from Occupy camps across the Northeast region will gather outside of the plant, which is owned by Combined Systems International.

In NYC today (Saturday, Nov 26), an Egyptian solidarity rally will begin at 1 PM at the Egypt Mission (East 44th St & 2nd Ave), with a march at 4PM.

This is not about elections or a constitution, neither of which will change the authoritarianism and violence coming down around us. Neither is this is about a so-called “transition” to democracy that has seen the consolidation of a military junta and the betrayal of the revolution by political forces. This is about a revolution, a complete revolution. The people demand the fall of the regime, and will stop at nothing short of that to achieve their freedom.

We are reminded of the compelling power of nonviolence. No other force could have won the moment. No other method can convey the fierce decency of those protesters.
Conversely, every time a protester throws a bottle at a police officer, or breaks a window, or spray paints a tree, he or she does exponential damage to the Occupy movement. Non-violence leaves bullies quaking in their boots. As Occupiers develop new ways to protest and communicate, they will achieve their ends with peace, especially when it is met with brutality.

Vote on Nov. 28th: A bill that would define the USA as a battlefield and Citizens as the enemy and would authorize indefinite detention of anyone anywhere WITHOUT trial
Here is what I know, we have the enemy belligerents act of 2010 which allows the president to declare anyone anywhere an ememy belligerent without evidence, which means you are not protected by the constitution because you are not a citizen. And now we have a bill coming to the floor that would define the USA as a battlefield and Citizens as the enemy and would authorize indefinite military detention of anyone anywhere without trial.
It pretty much means that anyone can be a belligerent as long as the president says so.
Don’t forget the first 3 say “Potential Threat” And “Potential intelligence value” So that means that you don’t even have to pose a threat, just the possibility that you could pose a threat is all it takes to lose all your rights.
Here is the bill that’s going before the Senate next week. The sections in question are 1031 and 1032, according to the ACLU site.
“The Senate is gearing up for a vote on Monday or Tuesday that goes to the very heart of who we are as Americans.
The Senate will be voting on a bill that will direct American military resources not at an enemy shooting at our military in a war zone, but at American citizens and other civilians far from any battlefield — even people in the United States itself.

Urgent From Tahrir: Join our struggle for the survival of the revolution
Urgent! Support Tahrir
We are in the midst of a decisive battle in the face of a potentially terminal crackdown. Over the past 72 hours the army has launched a ceaseless assault on revolutionaries in Tahrir Square and squares across Egypt. Over 2000 of us have been injured. More than 30 of us have been murdered. Just in Cairo alone. In the last 48 hours.
The violence will escalate – for WE WILL NOT MOVE. The junta does not want to give up its power. We want the junta gone.
The future of the revolution hangs in the balance; those of us in the square are ready to die for freedom and social justice. The butchers attacking us are willing to kill us to stay in control.
Occupy / shut-down Egyptian embassies worldwide. Now they represent the junta ; reclaim them for the Egyptian people.
Shut down the arms dealers. Do not let them make it, ship it.
Shut down the part of your government dealing with the Egyptian junta.
The revolution continues, because we have no other choice.
Occupy London is staging a march to the Egyptian Embassy today at noon, please join them if you can.

Occupy London - Who are the Protesters?
Occupy London has had its fair share of publicity; from "empty tents" to clergy resignations, the camp has been dogged by journalists fighting to get the latest scandal on the protesters.
What everyone seems to have failed to report is exactly why the protestors are there in the first place. So the Huffington Post UK went down to St Paul's to see what lay behind the headlines and media furore.

Though he has been twice honored by the University of California, Davis, the lieutenant was also slapped with with a department-wide racial and sexual discrimination lawsuit after "using a profane anti-gay epithet" against a gay police officer in 2003.
As the Daily Mail is reporting, officer Calvin Chang's 2003 discrimination complaint against the university's police chief and the UC Board of Regents alleged he was systematically marginalized by the police force. More specifically, Chang claimed Pike once described him using a profane anti-gay epithet.

Don't let the Corps Win!
Corperation's have a lock on people and they control you wether you admit it or not. They can get you to sit out in the freezing cold for 18 hours and even trample and kill a person over good's. Ask yourself, is this me?
Stop letting the corperation's control you!!
They kill millions of people every year and they even got you killing people!! over nothing!
We have got to wake up and start caring to what's happening around us, what is going to happen to us.
Start caring about your fellow neighbor and family instead of worshiping fad's!
It's time for change!!!
This is what Occupy is about, caring for each other, getting rid of the greed and the me, me, me society. Show your humanity to your fellow man.
Senators Demand the Military lock up Citizens in a 'Battlefield' they Define as being Outside their Window
While nearly all Americans head to family and friends to celebrate Thanksgiving, the Senate is gearing up for a vote on Monday or Tuesday that goes to the very heart of who we are as Americans. The Senate will be voting on a bill that will direct American military resources not at an enemy shooting at our military in a war zone, but at American citizens and other civilians far from any battlefield — even people in the United States itself.
Senators need to hear from you, on whether you think your front yard is part of a “battlefield” and if any president can send the military anywhere in the world to imprison civilians without charge or trial.
The Senate is going to vote on whether Congress will give this president—and every future president — the power to order the military to pick up and imprison without charge or trial civilians anywhere in the world.
Tthere is a way to stop this dangerous legislation. Sen. Mark Udall (D-Colo.) is offering the Udall Amendment that will delete the harmful provisions and replace them with a requirement for an orderly Congressional review of detention power. The Udall Amendment will make sure that the bill matches up with American values.
Don't Let the Momentum Die Down!
Protesters look for ways to feed the web
With cities starting to break up dozens of encampments from New York to Oakland, Calif., protesters may no longer have a physical presence that helps produce daily images and live streaming video for the 24-hour news cycle. And, despite having created a large network on social media sites, organizers within the movement and social media experts say that online tools alone are not enough to sustain it.
To help propel the Occupy movement forward and prompt discussion across social networks, organizers are planning multiple protests in the coming weeks.
A general strike has been called for Monday at University of California campuses, and a National Day of Action is planned for Dec. 6 to protest foreclosures.
Come on, people, we can't let the momentum die down!

On Dec. 10, organizers are hoping to repeat the huge success they had in October when a call for a global day of action led to dozens of new encampments and protests that rippled from Asia to Europe.
They are urging people to take to the streets on that day for a global human rights day.

Occupy Christmas 2011 -- Birth of a New Tradition
As the holidays approach, the giant Asian factories are kicking into high gear to provide Americans with monstrous piles of cheaply produced goods -- merchandise that has been produced at the expense of American labor. This year will be different.
This year Americans will give the gift of genuine concern for other Americans.
There is no longer an excuse that, at gift giving time, nothing can be found that is produced by American hands.
It's time to think outside the box, people. Who says a gift needs to fit in a shirt box, wrapped in Chinese produced wrapping paper?
Everyone -- yes EVERYONE gets their hair cut. How about gift certificates from your local American hair salon or barber?
Gym membership? It's appropriate for all ages who are thinking about some health improvement.
Evicting the Occupiers of Capitalism - We Will Win!
Evicting the Occupiers of Capitalism
From London to Toronto, New York to Vancouver, the 'Occupiers' of capitalism are facing evictions and other challenges.
The changes will come. Not maybe - for sure.
Oh, those juvenile, addicted and delinquent crazy people working at places like Wall Street complain about Occupy already. But when the changes are seriously implemented - when the necessary structural adjustments are not just ideas but reality - those crybaby billionaires (and wannabes) will kick and scream and throw their food all over the kitchen. They can't help it, because they're crazy.
But in the end the world will be a better place, even for money grubbers. So the crazy, delinquent, juvenile punks in high finance will be grateful.
That's right, kids, when you finally grown up you'll thank us.

Shocking truth about the crackdown on Occupy
Shocking truth about the crackdown on Occupy
Why this massive mobilisation against these not-yet-fully-articulated, unarmed, inchoate people? After all, protesters against the war in Iraq, Tea Party rallies and others have all proceeded without this coordinated crackdown. Is it really the camping? As I write, two hundred young people, with sleeping bags, suitcases and even folding chairs, are still camping out all night and day outside of NBC on public sidewalks – under the benevolent eye of an NYPD cop – awaiting Saturday Night Live tickets, so surely the camping is not the issue. I was still deeply puzzled as to why OWS, this hapless, hopeful band, would call out a violent federal response.

Public sector pensions are under attack
Pensions Justice
Join us on 30th November for direct action day.
The government wants to make people pay more and work longer for a lot less. Despite hours of talks, ministers have yet to seriously negotiate.
Few understand all the detail of pensions, but the issue is simple.
Most public sector workers are modestly paid. Their pay has been frozen while the price of basics is shooting up. Now they are expected to pay an extra £3 billion a year for much worse pensions, by a government that cancelled the banker’s bonus tax that raised almost the same.
It’s wrong to make public sector workers pay an unfair contribution to reducing a deficit they did nothing to cause.

New Forms of Non Violence and Leadership Emerging
After the pepper spray instance, this happened:
After a period of confused anger and upset, protesters chant "Who do you serve? Who do you protect?" (since many police departments have "serve" and "protect" in their mottos). Then they chant "Shame, shame!" then "Shame on you!!" The tension between the police and crowd grows palpable. The police become nervous, raising their pepperball guns protectively and threateningly. Things are about to get very ugly. And then suddenly - at 6 minutes 13 seconds into the video - someone in the crowd yells "MIC CHECK!" and the crowd yells back "Mic Check!" They say it again. The scene goes into a surreal suspended animation as the unknown initiator calls out a wisdom that the crowd had not possessed moments before, but now recognizes and follows:
Wonderful article, well worth a read, puts a different perspective on things.
How Do We Know OWS Is Winning? Elites Are Desperate to Suppress It
We are building a global movement, and elites are beginning to mobilize the incredible power at their disposal to do it whatever damage they can – media and scholarship to discredit us, laws and regulations to constrain us and sheer violence to repress us. They are paying their think tanks to undermine us, mobilizing their shock troops to beat and detain us, and whistling to their lap-dogs in the press to tell the stories they want heard.
This is what happens when genuine movements emerge with enough force and potential to be taken seriously by those with power and privilege. This is what happens when movements grow stronger and more diverse. This is what happens when movements take root in the public consciousness. Make no mistake about it: They are fighting us now because we are winning.
How To Brainwash A Nation
This amazing interview was done back in 1985 with a former KGB agent who was trained in subversion techniques. He explains the 4 basic steps to socially engineering entire generations into thinking and behaving the way those in power want them to. It's shocking because our nation has been transformed in the exact same way, and followed the exact same steps.
Friday 2nd December - Move Your Money Day
Large sections of the population, particularly the most vulnerable are being forced to pay for the reckless mistakes of the banks, either through government cuts or recession related redundancies.
Moving your money to an ethical bank is the first very simple thing you can do until we'll reach the ideal option - a true full-reserve banking (a bank that doesn't promise you instant access to your money even though it's lent to somebody else) which would also give customers a choice in how their money was invested .
Today the banks decide where to invest your money – not you! When you put money in the bank in present system it becomes the banks' legal property to do as they like with.
Banned neuro-toxic nerve gas 'poisons' Tahrir
Rashes, epileptic-type convulsions, temporary blindness and coughing up blood are among the symptoms being reported by Egyptian protesters who have fallen victim to a potentially lethal form of neuro-toxic nerve gas reportedly being deployed by security forces.
After almost a week of protests against the ruling military junta left some 41 people dead, several sources claim scores have died from gas asphyxiation, while thousands more have received medical treatment after possibly being exposed to an agent known as CR gas.
OLSX Reply to 'Sensationalist' Reporting
Occupy London supporters have called for "calm and responsible reporting" after a sensationalist London Evening Standard story associating them with drug use and the spreading of infection.
The group has responded with a full, open statement - and has invited media personnel and reporters to meet and talk with the OLSX welfare team, which is offering support to vulnerable members of society who have seen the camp outside St Paul's Catherdral as a place of refuge.

Congress Prepares to Censor the Internet
SOPA is so controversial — EFF calls it “disastrous” — because it would force changes to the Domain Name System and effectively create a blacklist of Internet domains suspected of intellectual property violationsThose against SOPA include Google, Facebook, Wikipedia, and hundreds of Internet start-up companies. Those opposed to the bill have described it in dark terms:
SOPA is an “Internet blacklist bill” that “would allow corporations, organizations, or the government to order an internet service provider to block an entire website simply due to an allegation that the site posted infringing content.”
New Law By Obama To Jail 500,000 American Citizens Or More For The Crime Of Opposing Their Government.
First introduced in the US Congress in 2007 by Democratic Representative Jane Harmon, this new law passed the US House of Representatives by a secretive voice vote, but failed to pass the US Senate, after which it was believed dead until this past week when it was embraced by Obama who became the first American President to name his own citizens as a threat to his Nations security.

OCCUPY WALL STREET IS WRAPPING THE GLOBE
December 6th - National Day of Action on Foreclosures
#OWS will join the struggle of families and communities that have been on the front lines of a struggle for economic justice. We will stand in solidarity and ask our fellow occupations to join us for a national day of action on the foreclosure crisis. We are fighting Wall Street's reach on every block, every farm, every house in America with sit-ins at foreclosed properties to right this moral injustice
The Occupy movement is born of the simple belief that humanity could meet our common needs if not for the predation and greed of the very few. Nowhere is this disparity of wealth and power more evident than in the struggle to secure the human right to housing.
Occupy is Showing the Way
Across the world, people still reeling from homelessness, poverty, foreclosures, and economic inequality have a lot less to be thankful for. But today, we reminded ourselves -- and the world -- that we can still be thankful for our mutual solidarity.
From D.C. to Oakland and everywhere in between, Occupiers sat down for communal meals. Others marked Thanksgiving by honoring indigenous Native communities and First Nations who continue to fight for their land and sovereignty against colonialism and corporate greed.
In New York, Occupy The Hood dropped off hundreds of meals at shelters across Harlem, Brooklyn, and the Bronx. The OWS kitchen cooked enough warm meals for 4000 people and handed them out at Liberty Square.
If this is the ONLY thing that will happen from the Occupy movement, it's surely better than anything we have now or before this movement came into being. We have elder abuse, child abuse, no one caring about each other or the environment. This movement has shown the way to a more compasionate and caring society, lets hope it continues for a very long time. Solidarity!

Edinburgh - First City to Back Occupy
Well done Edinburgh City!
We are pleased to announce that Edinburgh City Council has set a worldwide precedent by voting in favour of the motion to support the aims and sentiments of Occupy Edinburgh and the aims of the Occupy Movements as a whole. This motion was presented by the Scottish Green Party, was seconded by the Scottish Labour Party and was slightly amended by the SNP and LibDems. The only party not to back the motion was the Conservatives.
“ Council recognises the aims of the ‘Occupy’ movements throughout the world and understands that they are an attempt to redirect economic decisions to be more orientated toward the poor and disenfranchised which is a sentiment the Council endorses. “
