Tesco caught out by huge demand for Hudl tablet

Tesco is struggling to keep up with demand for its new low-cost Hudl tablet and has run out of stock at least twice since launching at the end of September.

Tesco, which manufactures the Hudl in the Chinese city of Wuxi, insisted it would not miss out on the festive trading rush. “We are working with our suppliers to get more Hudls in to meet demand, with regular deliveries expected especially in the run-up to Christmas,” said a spokesman.

By working with their suppliers do they mean working them into the ground as per the allegations against Apple.

Quote from that article:

A report by China Labor Watch accuses St Petersburg, Florida-based Jabil of violations, including excessive working hours, forcing female workers to accept pregnancy tests to be hired and providing only five minutes to eat meals.

The report is the latest accusation Apple has faced for its labor practices. Apple designs its products at its headquarters, then relies on a network of suppliers and contract manufacturers to build them.
Jabil’s alleged violations were documented at a plant in Wuxi, China, which China Labor Watch said builds the rear plastic covers for a less-expensive iPhone that Apple is set to unveil on Wednesday.

Don't add to their suffering by buying stuff we don't need, lets instead campaign for better working conditions and pay for these people.

Lets care about each other on this planet, wake up and see how strong we are TOGETHER!
