Occupy Wall Street bus tour visits Northampton, drawing hundreds to 'Spring Resurgence' program

Organizers were stunned by the turnout of more than 600.

The idea for the tour is for networking and “skill sharing to really build a movement face to face,” said Rose Bookbinder, an organizer who lives in both New York and Haydenville. People need “to come together in a shared vision to fix the system we see as broken.”

Northampton was the third stop on the tour.

Events featured training, discussions and the showing of films and a panel discussion at the Academy of Music on Wednesday night.


A busload from Occupy Wall Street visited the valley Wednesday and Thursday as part of a 16-community tour billed as ‘Occupy Wall Street Builds Momentum for Spring Resurgence” program.
