“Goldman Sachs rules the world.”

American and Japanese conglomerates have waded into the war between Occupy London activists and the City.

After quietly filing court papers, Paternoster Square Management Limited was granted a year-long injunction last week.

It is now a criminal offence to set up a protest camp in the streets surrounding Goldman Sachs offices.

Paternoster Square Management Limited is owned by Mitsubishi Estate Company - part of the Japanese corporation.

It argued in court Goldman Sachs offices in Italy and New York had been targeted by protesters.

The same could happen here the company reckons.

Goldman Sachs refused to comment on its involvement. So let’s leave the last word to self-styled trader Alessio Rastani in his now famous BBC interview from September.

“Governments don’t rule the world,” he said. “Goldman Sachs rules the world.”
